To My Grandsons

These are the days I'll remember when I'm old
soft summer breezes...skinned up toes
brown little bodies running in the sun
Band-aids a plenty...loaded water guns
Country-time by the gallon...Kool-aid too
may we have a popsickle and a snack or two?
Dirty little faces...looking through my door
dusty trail of footprints tracked across my floor.
These are the days I'll remember when I'm old
I wouldn't trade them for silver or gold
wet little kisses planted on my face
not with a king would I trade my place
for I am their grandmother and these little ones I hold
mean more to me than life itself
the words"granny I love you"is greater than wealth.
