Heavenly Father

This poem is about how God has helped me and heard my prayers so many times.Without Him I might not be here now.

Heavenly Father

Lord...I've been places
I've done things
most people will never do
how did I live through those times
Lord I owe it to you.
Nights of terror when guns were fired
when I thought my life would end
through it all I called Your name
You were my only friend.
I've stood beside the bed of death
when the end was very near
You held my hand through it all
and wiped away my tears.
I've prayed for my babies
in the wee hours of dawn
that You wouldn't take them from me
watched the sun rise on another day
and knew You had heard my plea.
I've lived a tough life without many frills
with heartaches and heartbreaks galore
if You weren't there to show me You cared
I would have endured many more.
We live through these trials...sometimes alone
and some people never bother
to lift up their eyes to the Heavens above
to seek help from our Heavenly Father.
