Sweet Home Kentucky

Watching them play
at dawn of a golden day
long legs flying
chasing butterflies
swishing tails
liquid brown eyes
morning mist
over meadows hover
webs of spiders
make lace on clover
emerald hills
white fenced tracks
silk clad jockeys
on thoroughbred's backs
lakes of blue
green rivers deep
Fort Knox
our money keeps
hospitality
none any better
country roads
changeable weather
mountains
high
deep ravines
long hot summers
cool sweet springs
play your cards
you could be lucky
and find the road
to Kentucky.
