A September To Remember Today started like all the rest the eleventh day of September but soon became the worst thus far one we'll always remember. I couldn't believe my eyes as I rushed to turn on the T.V. New York was in flames as two hijacked planes crashed into the WTC. I watched in horror as the towers came down and smoke filled the air some people ran, others were trapped the rest had the look of despair. In those tall buildings a lot lost thier lives and left thier families alone it makes me feel guilty that I am safe watching from my home. Bin Ladin is surely proud of himself and the terrible deed he's done but there'll come a day when he will pay there'll be nowhere to run. He may pay for this with his life and likely many others not just his people will lose thier lives but also our husbands, sisters and brothers. We know for certain what comes next our country will go to war we're in no rush and President Bush will do what's right I'm sure. Then someday and we hope it's soon it will be hard to remember we want forget, but time will heal and dim this tragic September.
Written September 17,2001 Hope We watch in silence and feel helpless wishing there was something we could do as time and time again we hear your pleas to find a loved one. Photographs displayed on walls pain displayed on faces haunt us in our dreams and we know after all this time their efforts are hopeless as each day slips away and darkness appears another day of hope has died and stark reality is another day closer. Written September 18,2001 To The Families People lost their lives on September 11,2001 but those left behind lost their dreams. Families that had plans for the future mothers and fathers watching their sons and daughters take their places in the world now face tomorrow without them. Terrorist brought down the towers breaking them into millions of pieces but they also broke hearts. Buildings can be replaced but lives can't. The one thing they didn't break is the American spirit. Through tragedy new friends have been made bonds have been formed between complete strangers and the hope for a new beginning is just over the horizon. Time will heal and life will renew but I don't believe this day will ever be far from anyone's mind. Each September will open old wounds and we will pause to remember that day and once again...pray. Written September 19,2001 Dedicated to all volunteers and FBI personal on Staten Island, who have to sift through all the debris dumped here daily. What a heartbreaking job this has to be. A Better Day Is Coming Sifting through the tons of waste that once were human lives searching for the smallest of thing to give a husband or wife tattered shreds of clothing a picture now and then not much left in the aftermath just memories of what might have been. Acres of steel and plaster strewn in a field of hurt dreams that died there with you lay scattered in the dirt. God is watching over you preparing a better place in Heaven you'll be whole again and filled with His love and grace. This poem is dedicated to Father Mychal Judge-firehouse Chaplian who died while administering last rites to one of the fireman. Father Mychal What you loved and believed in cost you your life you died helping others giving last rites the firemen all loved you you have a place among all the heros we see your face. We've heard on the news how no helmet you wore your heart was with others as you knelt on the floor we're sure up in heaven God's holding your hand for sacrificing your life for your fellowman. So in our eyes you are a hero as you died there with others that day at Ground Zero. This poem is dedicated to Todd Beamer-Jeremy Glick-Mark Bingham-Tom Burnett and others[names unknown]passengers that prevented the third plane[American Airlines-flight 93]from hitting Camp David on September 11,2001.It crashed instead in a field in Pa. American Heroes To all you guys we want you to know how proud we are of you It didn't happen at Ground Zero but you still are our American Heroes. The good you did prevented more tragedy on that fateful September day you didn't let the fear of death stop you or get in your way. Although you knew your life was in danger you took the chance at hand to stop the terrorist from another attack God helped you with your plan. Even though your're gone no one will forget your heroic deed that day how you stopped Flight 93 from making it all the way. Written September 21,2001 New York Candles and teddy bears line your streets photographs cover your walls the smell of death is everywhere your buildings stand less tall. Your land has been terribly scared from a wound that never will heal from a person filled with hate with his mind on someone to kill. Your streets are filled with dirt tons of glass and steel with millions of tears to fill in the cracks prayer request to fill. They managed to tear you down but your spirit they didn't take they may try again but that would be a mistake. You'll be back on your feet but there'll always be the pain as we look at your beautiful skyline that will never be the same. written September 19,2001 Tomorrow Will we ever feel safe again or will we walk in fear will we hold our heads up high or will our eyes be filled with tears will we look at our children and be happy as they go on their way or will will we always wonder will this be a tragic day at night when we go to bed can we know without a doubt there will be a sunrise peeking from behind the clouds will our nation have to fight will our battles all be won will peace prevail among us when all is said and done???? You'll pay the price for the lives you took on this our country insist. Written September 20,2001 Judge Not Judge not the people of a certain race or faith because some are bad, doesn't mean all are unsafe if you buy apples and one has a spot does that mean they're all bad should we throw out the lot how about the parents that's raised a bad seed does that mean all their children should pay for his deeds??? When you judge the people just make sure you're right look at all options and don't judge on sight. Written September 22,2001
