The Masterpiece

God must have been thinking of a rainbow
on the day that He made you
He looked at His palette and sighed
then dipped into the palest of blue.
He then realized He should make a correction
to turn this child's eyes into perfection
so He added the slightest tint of azure
then sat back and smiled with pleasure.
Taking some time to make up His mind
on what to do with your hair
He flipped His brush through gold
added streaks of silver here and there.
Your lips came next and oh what a hard decision
to find the most delicate shade of pink
and shape them with precision.
To match all this He must choose right
the color of your skin
so out He reached for the perfect peach
and dabbed it on your chin.
A masterpiece was created that day
and it took a little while
for the greatest Artist of them all
to design my oldest grandchild.

I love you Ash!
