Statue Of Liberty

Beautiful Lady your torch held high
is that a tear I see in your eye?
Dress in a gown fashioned from stone
do you feel forsaken and all alone?
Watching the harbor as ships come in
silently welcoming them home again.
You've endured it all...wind...rain and snow
bidding good-bye to friends as they go.
We haven't forgotten all you stand for
watch over our boys as they go off to war
we will be sad when they depart
but with hope for our future
and a prayer in our hearts.
